Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
California residents have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of their personal information, as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas, Utah, and Virginia have comparable rights to opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of personal data under their state privacy laws. We apply the opt-out methods below to requests from residents of any of these states.
What "Sale" and "Sharing" Mean Here
As a comparison service, our core function is connecting you with solar companies: when you request quotes, we disclose your information to up to four solar companies in exchange for compensation, which may constitute a "sale" under California law. We also use advertising cookies that may constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Important: If you opt out and then submit a quote request, we cannot forward your request to solar companies — which means we cannot provide the quote comparison you asked for. Opting out does not affect disclosures to our service providers or disclosures required by law.
How to Opt Out
You can submit an opt-out request in any of the following ways:
1. Online form (fastest) Use the opt-out form on this page. Your request is recorded with a timestamp and forwarded to our compliance team immediately. We will process it within 15 business days. You do not need to create an account, and we will not use the information you provide for any other purpose.
2. Email Send an email to info@betterbusiness.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share" and include the name, email address, and phone number you used on our site so we can locate your records.

4. Global Privacy Control (GPC) We honor Global Privacy Control signals. If your browser or a browser extension sends a GPC signal, we detect it automatically and treat it as a valid opt-out of sale and sharing for that browser and device — no form submission is needed.
Authorized Agents
You may designate an authorized agent to submit an opt-out request on your behalf via the same email address. We may require proof of the agent's authorization, such as signed permission.
After You Opt Out
- We will stop selling/sharing your personal information as defined by the CCPA
- We may keep your opt-out preference on file so we can honor it
- We may still send you transactional communications you have requested and use your information as permitted by law
- We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights
